Colombia, vibrant and incredibly diverse, stretches from the Caribbean and Pacific coasts through the coffee-clad foothills of the Andes to the depths of the Amazon rainforest.
We cannot hope to see it all in one journey, so we have created a holiday that includes some of the highlights and some lesser-known corners but captures the true flavour of this remarkable country. There will be historical lectures and guided tours of the cities we visit as well as guided walking and bird watching excursions. Colombia is home to over 1,966 bird species, a paradise for bird lovers. So don’t forget to bring your binoculars!
The holiday starts in Bogota from where we fly to the “eje cafetero” coffee country! 3 nights there before we drive up into high altitude to the thermal springs heated by a sleepy volcano. We fly to Cartagena for 3 nights and then drive to Santa Marta and the lesser discovered town of Minca.
